COUNTING THE COST FOR OUR LITTLE TOWN

  1. Very thoughtful message. Thank you. I appreciate your understanding and framing of the cost … for either outcome. You’ve got me curious to look back into the budget discussions. I recall mention of $4+ million. But the two override options on the ballot are for either $1.9 million or $2.9 million. Not sure what may have shifted during the various discussions and considerations.

I do hope that we can come through these times as a more deeply connected community … I still keep in mind the words on the signs entering our Town – “Winchendon working together” –

      • I certainly agree .. it is really our only option. For some reason, I’m remembering something I read quite a while ago. A scientist, a woman, talking about Darwin’s writings. She noted that people of the time had chosen to focus on his “survival of the fittest” … and missed his broader and more consistent message that species survive because of cooperation .. not competition … This certainly includes us humans. It’s our choice. Many are and need to continue to set the example.
