I like these .. and there is an element that I have found essential in my life .. which is being prepared to be surprised … to not miss an unanticipated opportunity that may be there or show up. Despite my career in helping others plan … this poem by David Whyte — “Just Beyond Yourself” has always resonated with me.

I think I like Benjamin Franklin’s the best. He had a simple way of stating a truth and making it easy to remember.
