I am choosing SHARE YOUR WORLD as my community participation blog this week. SHARE YOUR WORLD is hosted by Pensitivity101. Check out that blog and the other contributors by clicking on the link above when you are done reading my answers to the challenge.
What is the first thing you think of when you hear the word “cuddly”? I think of puppies or kittens.
2. Would you like to own an exotic pet? If so, what? I would not like to own an exotic pet. Exotic sounds like a lot of work. I currently have two dogs and they are more than enough work. I think when they pass from this earth I may be done with pets for a bit.
3. If you were suddenly gifted £1000/$1000, what would you do with it? I would probably save it for a vacation somewhere. I don’t think I will be taking any kind of a vacation until after Mom passes, but by then I think I will need a vacation. I have been looking at VRBO a lot lately. Which one do you like?

.

4. Do you wear slippers at home? It is cold here in New England and keeping the floors warm is near impossible. So yes we all wear slippers, in fact I have one of my pairs on now.
Gratitude: I am grateful for the VNA Hospice that has begun to help us care for Mom this week. Everyone has been so kind.
Hi Joseph, nice to see you again and thanks for sharing your world. I like the log cabin.

Let’s see
1)Cuddly .. probably because it’s winter, I think of what I call my “bear blanket” — big, warm, soft
2)Exotic pets … or pets. While I love dogs, I have also come to appreciate the care they require (as well as what they give) ..don’t feel ready to take that on. Perhaps that will change over time
3) I’m torn between #2 (log cabin in the woods) and #3 (vistas). For me, my choices would be between a cottage on Mount Desert Island, Acadia National Park – oceans, lakes, trails for all abilities) or a cottage on a pond in mountains of NW Maine with loons, dragon flies, canoeing, swimming
4) I wear socks inside all winter -and when it’s exceptionally cold, or when I’m going to the basement (which is several times a day), I put on slippers – those concrete floors are nippy!
And, my family is forever grateful to VNA and the amazing care they gave to our Mom and to us.

It was years ago .. on Twitchell Pond. No sure what’s available now. And, Maine and NH have an abundance of lakes and ponds.

Twitchell Pond? That rings a bell. Where is it?

It’s a small lake in Greenville, Maine .. a few miles south east of Bethel .. and not too far from the NH border & White Mountains. I was there quite a while ago … I’d like to think that my memories of this place still reflect its reality.

I love those places that get frozen in time. There are so few of them. They are very special.

At one end of Twitchell pond, opposite the cottage I was staying at, was a tall cliff. At night and in the early mornings when the loons were in full voice, the sounds would echo off that wall — so amazing, I can still hear/feel it. During the day, the cove at the base of the cliff was filled with a variety of neon colored dragon flies – who’d come and sit with me in my canoe as I drifted on the water.

Hiding away is a good word. I so long to take some time to hide away.
