Artist’s Day Apart 8-1-26

I feel like I have been behind since I woke up at 1:17 A.M. this morning. The rushing and being behind feeling is pretty common with me lately. I am learning to deny that feeling access to my heart. I am learning to walk in the truth that my times are in God’s hands and that everything that should get done will get done as I stay surrendered to Him and His timing. So instead of trying to write and administrate my early morning away I spent three and half hours in prayer, and then launched into administration and meetings. When my first meeting ran a few minutes late, instead of racing to the Artist’s Day apart at my church I calmed my heart and drove the speed limit knowing I would get there when I was needed.

Things were just getting going when I arrived 10 minutes late. The artists were just placing themselves on the map of the emotions as I arrived.

I was honest about my emotions and placed my own marker on the Rapids of Rushing. Even though I was denying them the right to control my choices I was still feeling them. I am learning you can feel without needing to be “all in your feelings”.

Our opening devotional conversation this morning was about hope. The picture below was made by our town’s folk at Winchendon’s annual food truck festival.

Here are a few of the questions that led our artist’s discussion this morning.

HOW DO YOU DEFINE HOPE?

HOW DOES HOPE INFORM YOUR ART?

I WOULD LOVE IT IF YOU WOULD SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS.

SCENES FROM THE ROAD

Brenda is on a road trip across America, meeting artists and building relationships for future Bridge Artists work. She is also catching up with her longtime friend Adriane Bennett as they travel together. Here are some pictures from the road.

The trip is into its second week. She will be gone until June 12 so there are many miles left to cover. She has had some incredible experiences. Has met with artists in New Mexico, Arizona and California. She met a man connected with Focus on the Family who learned about her ministry. He is connecting her with some new ministry and artist connections and she was able to attend the celebration of life for one of her longtime mentors in California.

MY HIDING PLACE AND THE 25 ACRES

On Friday night our church hosted The Bridge Artistc Network’s , rendition of MY HIDING PLACE, a one-woman show chronicling the life and ministry of Corrie TenBoom.

We had about 50 people in the house on Friday night, many guests, and one young man gave his heart to Jesus at the end of the show!

Here are a few of my favorite Corrie TenBoom quotes.,

On Saturday our church hosted a brainstorming session as we begin to consider developing the 25 acres of property our church owns behind our building. We had about thirty people from the church and community interested in coming up with ideas about how to use the property.

It was the first of many meetings we will have around the subject, but it was a good start.
