GENERAL COUNCIL AND NATIONAL YOUTH CONVENTION DAY 2

The sunrise yesterday was absolutely gorgeous from the balcony of our condo in Bonnet Creek.

It was registration day for the General Council and National Youth/ Fine Arts Convention. That means it was a day of standing in lines. We had until 6 P.M. to register, so we spent the morning and early afternoon getting to know the lay of the Bonnet Creek resort.

I got up late yesterday…almost missed the sunrise. Then I spent the rest of the morning in prayer and study and writing as is my normal Monday routine. Just before lunch I took a prayer stroll around the lake at the center of our resort. I took time to notice small details: the ducks, the egrets, the way the chairs were arranged, the artwork along the path, things like this orchid. I have a small orchid like this… I wonder if mine could get this big.

We headed over to the Orange County Convention Center at about 3 P.M.

Then we commenced standing in lines. Honestly it was not too bad. James and Sadie were excited.

Don’t mistake Pastor Amanda’s gaze here. She was thoughtful and concentrated not murdery.

Of course we had to take pictures of the AG (Assemblies of God) sign.

We capped off the night with a youth service. The them of the week is…THE GOOD FIGHT.

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:” 2 TIMOTHY 4:7

GENERAL COUNCIL AND NATIONAL YOUTH CONVENTION 2025 DAY 1

A group of us from Cornerstone Church Winchendon MA departed Winchendon yesterday to fly to Florida for National Youth Convention and General Council Of the Assemblies of God 2025.

General Council is the annual gathering of all American Assemblies of God leadership for its official business meeting and National youth convention is a biannual event held in conjunction with National Fine arts, a celebration of the talent of the youngest generation of the church.

This year our church has two competitors in the Fine arts competition.

Here Pastor Amanda and James and Sadie Bauver are sending off the last texts before they get on the plane. How times have changed.

Here is the team from our church that flew together to Florida. The Hacketts are heading to General Council and Pastor Amanda and I are taking James and Sadie to National Youth Convention and Fine Arts. They are in the same place but two separate events.

The Hacketts are staying on Disney property, I think. Meanwhile a lady from our church got us into her time share for a very….very reasonable price. I don’t know what I was expecting but I didn’t think this was going to be our front door for the week. Below are some other shots from our rooms.

A huge thank you to Pam who helped us with these accommodations.

A DAY AT THE FAIR

Today Brenda and I made our way to the Cheshire Fair in Keene NH. We started by getting Maple slushies.

It was the first day of the fair. They were just beginning the judging of the farm animals. Here is the line for the oxen judging.

There was a great tractor display on the way to the sheep and goat pens.

Wer stopped to catch the end of the Pirate Dan show and then stopped at a tree carving displays the rain was beginning.

As the skies opened up we sought refuge under the food tent at Tempesta’s. We had some great barbecue.

It was a great day! We got to walk the entire fair before the rain sogged us out. My garden is very happy for the moisture.
