TAKING INVENTORY

So today was my day off. That meant housework: I did the dishes and cleaned the kitchen including cleaning out the fridge.;

I washed the laundry and folded the clothes;

I did a trash run;

I filled out paperwork from Mom’s final life insurance policy.

And I did the grocery shopping.

That brings me to the final job of the evening….well I might not finish it tonight, but I plan to at least get it started. Over the last month or so, every time I go grocery shopping I have been picking up a few extra items for the rainy days I feel are soon coming. I recently realized I have not kept a running total of the items I bought ahead. My dry goods cabinets are bursting at the seams and I have a large tote filled with dry goods besides, but I am not really sure what is in them.

The articles I have read, suggest that I should have extra flour and sugar and rice and oil on hand as well as canned goods. I know I have all of these things. I am just not sure how much I have. So tonight I am beginning to pull everything out and have a look. I kind of wish I had thought of this all before.

ARE YOU STOCKING UP YOUR PANTRY?
